* **Photomerge**. This feature lets you stitch together a number of images into one. See Book II, Chapter 6 for instructions on using this feature.

# Using Bridge

The other most common interface to Adobe Photoshop is the browser called Bridge. This tool lets you explore photos and videos, organize them, and find duplicates.

Browsing with Bridge is a whole different world from using Photoshop. You have to know how to use it, not just navigate it, and it's different enough from browsing with other software that it's worth looking at in a separate book:

* **Viewfinder**. If you're unfamiliar with the viewfinder, this option toggles the display of viewfinder overlays at the bottom of the window. You can use these to check the contents of a specific layer or group of layers.

* **Sort**. You can use the checkboxes to the right of the Sort button at the bottom of the window (Figure 1-3) to sort a specific set of items. Clicking the View all the images in the folder option toggles between thumbnails and a list of the files in the folder.

This article will teach you how to change the background of an image using Photoshop Elements.

How to Change the Background of an Image in Photoshop Elements

In this tutorial we will use a series of images with varied backgrounds to show you how to do this.

You can use this same technique for any image that has a background.

Adding a background layer in Photoshop Elements.

Step 1. Add a New Background Layer

In the Layers palette, click on the Add Layer button to add a new background layer.

Step 2. Add the Background

Click on the Ellipse tool to draw a new background layer.

Be sure to use a soft edge.

Change the Size of the new background layer and name it.

When you have finished, you should see a layer with the ellipse and title layer.

Here is a completed background layer.

Step 3. Layer Mask, Stroke Weight, and Fill Opacity.

Click the Layer Mask button to turn the layer on.

You will now be able to see the white part of the background that should be masked.

Next, click on the Stroke Weight button to add a border around the edge of the shape.

You now have the edges of the object as a complete filled-in outline.

Finally, click on the Fill Opacity button to add more transparency, or opacity, to the background.

Step 4. Hide the Layer (Optional).

You now have a background that covers the entire image, which is just what you want in some images.

However, you can hide the layer if you want.

To do this, click on the eye icon next to the layer, so it shows a box around it.

Here is a completed image with a background layer and layer mask.

Step 5. Edit the Layer

At this point you may need to change something in the image.

For this image, I wanted to add a black border to the shape.

To do this, click on the Rectangle tool and make a new rectangle on the newly added background layer.

Change the color and size and type some text in the box.

Here is a completed layer mask.

Step 6. Edit the Layer

Now you can edit the layer and change the text to make it more legible.

How do I receive a referral from a friend if I don’t have the same spellcaster level or homebrew?

Due to a recent quality of life change, we have decided to remove the “personal” 1st-level wizard spell, as well as personal 1st-level cleric spells. However, we were still able to make these rules and are also enforcing them, as the rule changes made previously are still in effect (specifically that players may only have 2 spell slots at each spellcaster level, as opposed to 3).

Part of the reason for this change is we’d rather not change the game with only a few months left before the drop rate. We do plan to support the game in that time span, however, and if any homebrew is desired, the work will be completed so that it’s not a case of just copying and pasting the rules.
